Mary This tells me a lot about your Coker. There is a large group of Coker families in the area of Prairie Hill some are still here. I live just a few miles from there. June Archer <ejarcher@glade.net> is connected to some of these Coker families I know for sure, hope this email is still good. I have Johnnie Baldwin as a male so that is wrong in my data base I will change it. I will try to add some of your Walker info so I can look out for them. I started working this LCT date base on the south east side of LCT & worked my way out. I have very little info on the north part of the county & worked my way to the west side. I have worked some on the Prairie Hill area but no as much as I have on other areas. I need to spend more time on this area. One thing of interest to me on your George W Baldwin is him being born in MO & living in the area of Lost Prairie. I have a big Hall family in the same area that came to LCT from MO. they were in Carroll Co ARK in 1850 then moved on into LCT. They lived in Callaway Co & Taney Co MO before TX I find these families tended to come to the same areas as neighbors in the past or could be connected in the same family. Great luck in your search. Pat Thank you very much. That gives us one more generation. And James is with George in the 1900 Limestone Co., Tx census. But don't think that is the wife's name. Very hard to read. I will check on GenCircles and FamilySearch. See if someone has posted there. By the way, are you related to the Ks/Ohio Oakes? I talk to a lady in McPherson Co. Kansas who is doing research on Oakes. I can offer no help on your Howell family, the oldest one I have is James William Howell b:1855 ALA married Tempie Emma Henderson. Do not have a James Patterson old enough to be your man either, oldest James Patterson I have is born 1876 TN. I have a Malcom Patterson born 1859 ALA Also I see your Howell family went to OKLA , there is a group of families that left the Beulah, Davis Prairie area of Limestone Co & went to OKLA somewhere around 1900. Do you know what area of LCT your Howell family lived? Most of the Howell families I have are in & around Thornton to the Davis Prairie area. Thanks Pat for the info. I did not have a marriage date for Baldwin - Walker, and I have that one of the children was a girl - Johnnie Ann. Bobbie Walker Baldwin in buried in the Prairie Hill Cemetery. The Walkers were living in that area. The Nelson's came to Texas in 1850's from Illinois, they mostly settled around Kerr County, but some scattered. I had come across the Roundtree name in LCT but don't have enough info on Polly to connect. Morgan Coker and the Walkers were gone from LCT by 1910 to Seminole, Gaines Co. TX. The one brother stayed in LCT, John Wesley and Sara Akers Walker are buried in Armour Cemetery. Thanks again. Mary
Mary Now I can relate to the families you are talking about. George Jackson Baldwin b:25 Aug 1875 married 1898 LCT Bobbie Walker had 2 sons. George Baldwin is the son of John Baldwin & Delila Ann Wayland married 1874 LCT. John Baldwin is the son of George W Baldwin b: 1813 & Eliza Davis I have 9 kids for them. This is the other group of Baldwins in LCT they were in the Lost Prairie area my other group are around the Oletha area. Do not know when you Mary Roundtree Nelson came to TX I have a family of Nelsons that may have come from TN to early TX before 1840 & were in LCT & Robertson Co TX but do not have a Hyrum in the family but then I do not have all the kids of that family only Elizabeth, Samuel,John,Wiley. The Roundtree family I am looking for a contact on show up in Hardin Co TX before 1860 he was born 1818 in TN his kids married & somehow they got over into LCT & are buried in Hogan Cem. I do not have your Susie Pruitt/Pewitt or a John H Coker that will fit this time frame. There is a large group of Coker families on the west side of LCT & June Archer on this list is pretty well up on them. Also there is a big group in the south east corner of LCT around the Oletha/ Seale area over into Robertson/Leon Counties. Where in LCT were these Walker's ? One of the Walker families I am working did not show up in the LCT census until 1920 but think they were in the area before that. I have a Hiram Walker family I have worked for yrs but they were in TX pre 1840 & in & out of LCT. I do have several Walker families in the same area as the Baldwin family but most of them I only have 1 or 2 kids, not good solid families. Don't think I can help with the Pruitt/Walker line at all. Maybe someone else on the list can help. Pat, My Roundtree was Mary Anna "Polly" Roundtree b. abt 1802 d. 1866 Texas, m. 1829 probably NC to Hyrum Nelson. They came to Texas with a large number of family members. Uncertain who her parents were. The Pruit line is Susie D. Pruit/Pewitt b. ? d.? m Nov 6 1886 Limestone Co. to John H. "Morgan" Coker. They had a son D. Coker. In 1900 census Morgan is living with a Pruit family along with his son D. and Manley Walker (my grandfather) and Betty Nichols (who I believe became my grandfathers first wife), listed as "boarders". After Susie's death ? Morgan married Manley's sister Beatrice Walker. Another sister of Manley's - Bobbie Walker m. ? George Jackson Baldwin, she died in 1903 as a result of child birth. There were two children Johnnie Ann b. 1900 and Bobbie Calvin b. 1903. Manley's parents Eliza Tillman and Daniel Walker divorced in Limestone Co. in 1892. Do not know what happened to Daniel. There was at least one brother to Daniel living in Limestone Co. - John Wesley Walker m. Sara Jackie Akers Have some info on the families in Limestone but anything would be great. Mary

While I was not able to post to the list I started working on this 20th TX CAV & INF companies out of Limestone Co TX. Found a big bunch of men from Limestone Co in Co H, 20th CAV I think this company must have formed in the Old Union/ Davis Prairie area of the county, too many who lived in that area were in it. In fact most that I have found from that area were in this company. Found some names I did not know but most were LCT men. Has anyone seen info on this company on the web anywhere? Pat Oates in TX
