To Pat and All the List Members: Most of my McCaig line is buried in Madison County. However, my great grandfather Edward McCaig is buried somewhere in Limestone County and quite possibly my gg grandfather, John McCaig, is also. Edward is age 14 and John is 48 in the 1880 Limestone Census. By the 1900 Limestone Census, Edward's widow is head of household in Pct 8--east of the RR. I have checked the cemeteries online at the Limestone site to no avail. Some McCaigs are at Thornton and some at Springfield. My grandfather, Enoch Joseph McCaig, was baptized in 1906 at Rogers Prairie, TX. I would appreciate any info on Edward, John, or any McCaig in Limestone. Barb McCaig Nannery in Ocean Springs, MS
Hi List Members I just want to see if this list is still alive!! It has been so long since I have had any kind of post for the list. I am doing Limestone Co. genealogy I started a data base on the county several years ago & will do look ups in this to check & see if I have anything on your line. This has come from all kinds of people & records some is documented & some is word of mouth so will need some checking. I know someone in Limestone Co. is looking for something. Lets get this list going again. I miss the Limestone Co. list. Pat Oates in TX.

Mr. Huggins, you might need to get another ISP. alaweb seems to think the TXLIMEST-L mail list is spam. They are apparently blocking all Rootsweb mail lists because of something called rss. Concerning the McCraw cemetery- I have been looking for the grave of my great grandfather; Seth Lathan Smith who filed a Civil War Pension application in Craighead Co.,AR in 1901. The pension applications are on file with the Arkansas History Commission. He was in the Col. Wood's16th Alabama Infantry and they fought in every major battle in the western theater. He served from 1861-1864, when he was struck by a tree that was hit by a cannon ball at Chickamunga,GA. He suffered spine, back, hip and kidney injuries. He was a Fourth Corporal. There were a couple of other Smiths in the 16th Albama Inf. but I haven't found out yet if they were his brothers or what? It did have his childrens names and addresses; N.A. Hill -Bay ,AR (wit: S.A.
