    3. Hi Pat, I started to send this to you personally but since we have so many online right now I thought I might as well send it to the List. My Limestone line is through Saladin H. WILLS to William Thomas WILLS and Eliza GEORGE and their second son James Ritt WILLS and Mattie A. CRAWFORD. Pat, I'm interested in your FERGUSON connection. My FERGUSONs never made it to Texas. The last of my FERGUSONs was Martha Ann FERGUSON in Missouri though she was born in Arkansas, her Father born in Virginia and before Virginia in Ireland and possibly Scotland. My wife is very interested in your BATES line though her line never made it to Texas (she thinks). Her first BATES was Joseph BATES b. 26 Jun 1821 somewhere in Ohio died 25 Feb 1900 also in Ohio. He married Martha Jane Gibson. The family eventually moved to Michigan. My wife was born Jean Marie TYSON 7 Jun 1921 in Michigan.

    3. Barb The Moodys in Limestone are pretty thick also, not as bad as the Jones family but lots of them. I will remember your McCaig name because there are not that many that were in the county as far as I know. Will make a list of some of these names & next time I am over at the courthouse I will see what the index says. The gap between the 1880 & 1900 census is just awful for everyone. Females were born & could have easily married out of their family unit before the 1900 census so with out family information it is very hard to place them in a family. Also I keep all of these emails in a mail box & do go back from time to time & check to see if I have come across anything. Good luck Pat Oates in TX. 3. Ron I have just gotten into the Kirk,Prairie Hill area in my research so unless your group married into another family I have then I may not have anything but will sure check tonight. I have a BUNCH of Jones in the computer but I am sure you know that having had to research Jones. :>) I have not at this time found a connection with the many Jones that were in Limestone Co. Just off the top of my head I can tell you that there was a Blackburn family in the Elk, McLennan Co. TX area which is not far from Mt Calm. I will hunt my book on Elk & see what it says on Blackburn. I also know of several other Sparks in early Limestone Co. so will just have to do some checking as time permits. They should be on the 1860 census. I am reading the 1900 Limestone Co. at this time. When I go back to the 1860 I will keep you in mind. Pat Oates in TX. 2. Thanks so much, Pat. I know that you are doing a wonderful job for all of us in genealogy. Quite a few of the Rutherfords were in Robertson Co. but I know that most of the Simmons were around Limestone Co. and Freestone Co. I think that I have a good line on them but those Rutherford girls are hard to find so if you run across any of the surnames that I send I would appreciate it if you would let me know. Thanks again. 3. Pat: I have William R. Howard, George G. Gentry, Marian J. Lowery and John Wesley Lowry (father to Marian) all resided in Limestone County around 1850's. Which Simmons are you researching? Mine is William Edward Simmons wife Lucreatia Dunn, married in AL, but believe both were from GA. May have lived in Cherokee County, Texas, had 2 sons and 10 daughters. The Ayres and Dunn families was also connected with the Simmons family. Some lived in Henderson County, Texas. Does any of these names familiar to you? Later, Doris Gist
