    3. ---------- Forwarded message ---------- Date: Sun, 8 Apr 2001 01:25:09 EDT From: [email protected] To: [email protected] Subject: William H. Jordan & brother James A. Jordan, McLennan & Limestone Cos. David Morgan: I hope you can help me with the above. James A. Jordan and wife, Mary came to Texas from Alabama in the late 1860s or early 1870. Their third child, Catharine Mozelle Jordan was born July 1870 in McLennan County, Texas. They later moved back to Alabama where Mary had several more children and died there. James came back to Texas and married Mary's sister, Sarah M. Bradley in 1880 in Limestone County, Texas. It is believed that his brother also came to Texas with his wife Elizabeth (Carlisle) Jefcoat around 1870 but died in Beaumont, Jefferson Co., Texas either in 1872 or 1874. It is my belief that the two brothers and their wives might have come to Texas together and lived in McLennan Co. around Waco, Texas and later William must have moved to Beaumont, Texas where he was believed to have died. Can you help with any information on this William H. Jordan living in Texas during the above time frame?

    3. For the person looking for Olga Sadler I have found the information I told you about. This Sadler line that I was looking for was a Thomas Coke Sadler from ALA . I have placed one of his daughter in Limestone Co. married to Abraham Anglin. He is buried in Wills Point TX so more than this one lady came to TX. The information I have came from the McCraw/McGraw Book. Some of this information came from the Sadler Book by Joan Smola. This Sadler Book is in several big libraries & I have a copy but is out of print. Hope this gives you a starting point. Pat Oates in TX.

    2. I'm still trying to find information on any relatives to the Lula Pearl Adams and James Harvel Dalton Turner family that came to Limestone County in about 1901 from the Dickson County, TN area. Lula's parents also came about the same time their names were Luther Alonza "Lonn" Adams and Mary Jane Turner Adams. They had 4 living children living in the area, Lula Pearl born 1877, Bertha M. born 1885, Grace 1888, Londie Josephine born January 06, 1896. Bertha married Robert Jones who died November 08, 1939, in Limestone County. Grace married a man named Deis and William Gunn. Londie "Josie" married William Savage and Martin Loftin. Anyone with connections or information to these families would be a big help. Thanks, Jean Reed Herbelin

    1. [TXLIMEST] Denton family of Limestone Co, TX
    2. R.J. Elliott
    3. Hello: This is my first posting on this list. I am researching the family of John E. Denton b. 1844 TN, and his wife, Lucinda V. Whitworth Denton b. 1845 TN. They moved from TN to Limestone Co, TX as they are on the 1900, 1910 and 1920 Limestone census schedules. In 1880, they were on the Hill County, TX schedule. Their children were: ALBERT DENTON b. 1867 LAURA DENTON b. 1869 JOHN DENTON b 1871 WILLIAMSON C. DENTON b. 1873 d. 1951 MARY M. DENTON b. 1876 DELLY DENTON b. 1878 CORA DENTON b. 1879 JAMES FRANKLIN b. 1884 d. 1965 McLennan Co, TX Williamson was supposedly buried at a Fairview Cemetery in Coolidge, but I have been told there is no such cemetery. Albert Denton was my great-grandfather and I am looking for any information on he or his siblings. Albert may have moved to TN as I have found an Albert Denton b. 1867 on 1900 census there, and he moved to Van Zandt Co, TX by 1920. I cannot find anything on any of his siblings thus far. Thank you! 3. Tom Could this family be related to the Shedd family that was in the north west corner of Limestone Co., that Shedd Cemetery was named for. I am not even sure Shedd Cem. is in Limestone Co. it may be in Hill or McLennan. I do not have a Wood of any name that is the age of yours.
