I think it is time for me to move on. If you would like to be the county coordinator for Limestone county, drop me a note at [email protected] Basically, it involves maintaining the web page, providing a way to post queries, handling this mail list, and answering questions, if you can, from visitors. Goolsbee Hi, My name is Beverly Laxson Wolfram. My father was Charles L. Laxson son of Lee Roy Laxson and Gatra Ethel Goolsbee. She was the daughter of Wylie and Sarah{Sallie} Goolsbee. I have been trying to research Wylie for about a year. My dad told me that he was a school teacher somewhere in Limestone County. I know that he died sometime in the late 1890s or early 1900s. My grandmother and her sister Vera were very young. I do know that Wylie was born in Eufaula, Barbour County, AL. Sallie's maiden name was Nugent and she was born somewhere in LA. My dad lived with his grandmother and helped her farm in the 1930s. I hope someone can help me. They are buried in the Honest Ridge Cemetery. I think Vera married a man named Fortune. Hope to hear from you soon. Beverly

Find homeplace Ayers, Murff I am needing to help to locate a land lot map of Limestone Co, TX. I am looking for the old F K Clanton Homestead later owned by the Ayers and Murff family of Limestone . It was on the banks of Steele Creek. I wonder who owns it now. Also looking for someone who might be able to find any info after 1902 on the Murff farm being sold off. I would appreciate any help or inside anyone could provide. Next, I wonder if anyone has any old copies of city directories during the 1881-1903 timeframe? Many many thanks. Shelby
Hi Folks, This is an addition to some URLs I got from one of my lists. These URLs are very interesting. I tried for 3 hours to post a message, they kept throwing my password out. I finally got to post but I have had a time with it. It may be my web browser, I liked the old one. It had the surnames listed with the subject. Mary ----- Original Message ----- From: "David W. I am searching for information on Wilmuth Satterwhite Edwards, the wife of Jacob Hollingsworth Edwards. She is supposed to have died in Limestone Co., TX in 1871. I have not been able to locate her grave or death information. If anyone has information about her and her family I really would appreciate the information. Carlton
Folks, Ancestry/GenConnect has changed their GenConnect boards into something that won't work with my web browser. They also require that you get a password from ancestry before posting a query, obit, anything. I will not use a system like that. There is a new query board here http://www.rootsweb.com/~txlimest/query1.html The posts from the old GenConnect boards are there, too, in plain text form. They are not very pretty, but at least they are on the county web site. Please post any obits, wills, deeds, bios, etc here on this mail list and I will place them in the USGenWeb Archives. You can also send them to me via e-mail. You can post queries to the mail list too, of course. LOL David [email protected] David W. RootsWeb.com regrets that the ability to post new information to the message boards, and the message board administrators' pages, are temporarily disabled while we transition to our new message board system, which will be available shortly. All previously-posted GenConnect messages are still available for you to search and view during this transition period. We recommend that if communication with a poster is urgent, you respond directly through an e-mail message. Otherwise, post a response once the boards have transitioned to the new system. The biggest and most exciting change to the new system is the combination of two powerful message board systems (i.e., GenConnect and FamilyHistory.com) into one -- users will be able to take advantage of a much larger community in which to share experience, tips, and genealogical information. The new message boards will be indexable by the major Internet search engines, and as a result queries, discussions, and helpful suggestions from the genealogical community will reach the widest possible audience. Thank you very much for your patience. JAKE GEHRING Executive Producer RootsWeb.com [email protected] David W. i am not sure on who is who all i have is anobit od my greatgrandmother and she is addie meyers! she was born addie ethel davis in 1910 and she had my grandmother (jackie davis) out of wedlock at the age of thirteen. and married a paul truett and had four more daughters, mary, marguerite, julia, georgia! she then divorced him and then remarried him and divorced again and married a man by the name of john (buster) meyers! in her obit(in houston, she died 3/10/1937at her home 328 yale and her body was taken to cleveland for burial) it states two sisters Mrs.E.E. Meyers of houston, Mrs. Joe Gibson of conroe and three brothers John and Dallas meekins of cleveland and Ben Davis of houston! her mother was married to Meekins i am assuming she lived in cleveland at that time! or could have been there when Addie died. my grandmother remembers her grandmother and grandfather as Maude and Henry Davis. this is all the info i was able to get and any help would be greatly appreciated i am in the yuma arizona area and if i can help anyone i would try my best! thankyou so much! lorie
