    1. [LIMEST] TXLIMEST-D Digest V01 #45
    2. I'm trying to find out about my grandmother's father who was from Limestone Co. Groesbeck area. Minnie Ola Stevens Frazier d/o Lillian Arenda Brown Stevens Sanders. Her father was a Stevens and I believe he had a sister named Katherine and a brother that lived in Groesbeck until his death around 1980's. Minnie had one sister Mildred who is in the nursing home at Groesbeck. Mildred married a Cox. Lillian divorced Stevens after he went to jail for writing checks or something. This was in the 1920's and she never saw him again. Asked her uncle and aunt but they said she was better off not knowing him. She died of cancer in 1975 still wandering what ever became of him. Lillian married George Rumulus Sanders and had several more children. Georgie Ruth, Ella Pearl, Nona Faye, Ion, Thomas and William Sanders. Lillian died in 1957 and is buried in Fort Parker Cem. next to George R. Sanders who died in the 60's. Several of my grandmothers half-siblings still live in the area but know nothing of Minnie and Mildreds fathers family. Mildred is the one that told me he went to jail and it cost her mother $2 to get a divorce but that is all she remembered. After her mother married Sanders they lived close to Oletha where they were share croppers. Minnie Ola and John Frazier met and married in Navarro Co. where she had gone to visit with family near Streetman. Have you ever heard any of these families. Don't know Lillians parents either. Thanks I'd like to find out and complete that side of my family history. Patti Cantrell

    3. Have you looked for his will or the will or his widow? I looked for a deed to a cemetery in TN only to find that when his widow's estate was sold by public auction there were 172½ acres to be sold but ½ acre was set aside for a cemetery. I have never been able to find a deed and was told that there probably was not a deed since it was set up in this manner. Just a suggestion. 3. Ferguson Cemetery is where my ancestor Joseph Ferguson is buried along with his last wife Hannah Penrod Ferguson. They were the parents of his last 3 daughters. My GGGrandmother was his daughter by an earlier marriage. She is also buried there along with my GGrandparents & some of their children. Many of my family are buried in Ferguson Cemetery & I have been researching the families in the cemetery for some years now trying to determine the connection to our Ferguson family. I am sure the land came out of his land grant from Texas. Joseph Ferguson was on his land when Limestone Co. TX was formed. Pat Oates in TX. 1. [LIMEST] Looking for grave of Jack Philllips
    2. theshadow
    3. Hi Folks, I am looking for anyone who might know about a young boy named Jack Phillips (b. 3-10-1914) who was supposedly shot to death at age 14 (d. 3-20-1928) by a man named William "Bill" Smith Bosley. Jack was the son of George Enoch Phillips and Minnie Ola Jackson Phillips. His siblings were Billy Lee, Tinty Alverta, Elsie Leata, Dotson, and Allie. William Smith Bosley, Sr. (1865-1942) was married to Sletia Jackson (1880-1951). Some of their children include: Inez, Wallace, John, Rod, Ben, Joe, Ruth, and Ruby. Harvey Cox found a Jack Phillips who is buried in the Kirk cemetery and I am checking that out in the morning. I could not find a death certificate at the Limestone Co. Courthouse for Jack. Jack's 80 yr. old sister is the one who is looking for his burial plot as she would like to know for sure where he is buried and what really happened to him. She has apparently lived out of state since she was a small child. She says that she remembers a little bit about the funeral in that they did have a casket and the body was displayed at their house, even though she does not think there was an undertaker involved. The only thing she can remember is that the area was very rocky because she asked her mother why they were burying Jack in the rocks. She said there were other graves there and she does not remember seeing a building like a church or anything. This would lead one to think that it was just a cemetery and not a church yard. She said there was a fence around it and that the grave was just inside the fence to the left as you walked in. there wasn't a tombstone, only a metal stick with a small sign on it that said Jack's name, etc. Of course, this makes me tend to think that an undertaker was involved as the family would be unlikely to have his name on a piece of metal. I would appreciate hearing from anyone who thinks they might know something about this incident. I know his sister wants very much to know where he is buried. Thanks for any help, Jean Hancock
