    1. [TXLIMEST] GIBSON, ROWLAND, HAGERMAN, INNERARITY
    2. Bluejean
    3. Need information on following family: John E. ROWLAND b. abt 1843 KY and wife, Mary Jane KEELING GIBSON ROWLAND b. 1842 in Towncreek , AL, living in Mexia in 1880 (Census) and have moved to Dallas by 1889. John Rowland dies in Dallas abt. 1890. Mary Jane Rowland dies in Dallas 1935-1937. John Rowland may have owned a general/hardware/dry goods store in either Mexia or Groesbeck. In 1880, they have two children, John b. abt 1879 and Mary b. abt 1875, both in TX, possibly Limestone County. Also living with them are Mary Janes daughters, Lily GIBSON b. abt 1862 and Camille Irene GIBSON, b 25 Dec 1865. Lilly Gibson marries J. W. HAGERMAN in Limestone County on 24 Jan 1881. Camille Gibson marries Emanuel S. INNERARITY in Limestone County on 15 Sep 1883 or 1884. Questions: Where do they come to TX from? (Possibly MS). (Of course, the story is they had to leave MS in the middle of the night, etc. etc.) Are there other family members, ROWLANDS, KEELINGS or HAGERMANS, living in Limestone County at the same time?na If anybody else is working on these families, please let me know. THANKS!! Jean

    1. [TXLIMEST] WOOD CEMETERY OR CEDAR ISLAND CEMETERY
    2. Margaret Chambers
    3. I was at the Library today and saw the Limestone County, Texas, Cemetery Survey published by Limestone County Historical Museum. I wonder if someone can give me the location of the Wood Cemetery or Cedar Island Cemetery. My Great Greatgrandfather John Kelly Wood (1818-1876) and GGGrandmother Ann Elizabeth Sawyers Wood (1819-1879) were both buried on their home place in Cedar Island. Loyd Wood (June 25, 1893 - Feb 23, 1979 buried in Armour Cemetery) showed me the location in 1967. It was under trees and their burial spots were simply marked with rocks. In 1967 there was no sign that this was a family burial plot, We had to drive off the road through a field to get to the location. It was called the "Wood Cemetery" by Loyd Wood. I am wondering if the Wood Cemetery or Cedar Island Cemetery is the same cemetery where my John Kelly Wood & wife are buried? I would appreciate any help any one can give me. Thanks. Margaret

    2. Pat Was this not the gentleman who wrote the History of LimestoneCounty some years ago. I met him in the library at Groesbeck when I was there a couple of years ago and we had a great chat. He said his book was out of print but he had a couple at home -- I think he lived in Waco -- with bad covers and he would send me one. A couple of weeks later, there it was in my mailbox! It is always sad to lose someone and especially someone as friendly and helpful and knowledgeable as he! love joan For this is the day that the Lord hath made Join me in rejoicing in it, and let us be glad!
