    3. I was almost sure you would be unable to locate any court cases during that period. All of the court records in Lamar County were destroyed in the great fire of 1916, as were the newspaper files. However, I believe the court case you are seeking was in the Federal Court...and not the Lamar County Court. A branch of the Federal District Court of Fort Smith AR was in Paris. All of the FEDERAL cases in the Choctaw and Chickasha Nations were handled in the Paris Federal Court. The Choctaw Nation boundary is just 15 miles north of Paris, and the Chickasha joins them on the west. The fact that we are dealing with Chickasha citizens leads me to believe this is probably the case. The Federal Courthouse also burned in the 1916 fire. Dennis R.
