He lived on Cherry Street just below the plant. His son, Albert or "Jabo" , also worked there for a few years. I remember the chunks of ice in the summer keeping us cool - have been inside the block house where lines of ice were being frozen, it was hard to stay in there because of the cold. My dad was Lester Spann and my Grandpa was Thomas Spann, known as Tom, he was born in 1872 and died in Paris at 98 yrs old. Used to go to the Wagon Yard with him where he traded cream, eggs, furs and anything else he could make a little money on. Great memories.
