Surnames: Ragan, Nichols Classification: Obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/YlB.2ACI/1932 Message Board Post: Freeman Ragan RAGAN, FREEMAN RAGAN, 88, born January 21, 1916, in Sulphur, Oklahoma to Warnie and Robbie Edna Ragan, passed away on December 10, 2004, in Dallas. He grew up in Paris, Texas and graduated from Paris High School. He also graduated from East Texas State Teachers College, where he received his BS degree. Freeman served in the US Army Air Corps during World War II and moved from Seymour, Texas to Dallas in 1953 with his wife, Elaine Nichols Ragan. He retired from Continental Trailways after many years of service. He was a member of University Park United Methodist Church, where he served as usher and attended the Men's Bible Class. Freeman was also a member of Hella Temple, Shriner's, Masons, the Dallas Agricultural Club, and he spent many hours volunteering for the Bread Basket. He was a loving and giving man that enjoyed woodworking, fishing, baseball and being with his family. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Elaine Nichols Ragan; two daughters, Becky Middleton and hu! sband Ray, and Cindy Adams and husband Mike of Phoenix, AZ; grandchildren, Kim Idzorek and husband Tom, Stephen Adams and wife Kristi, Daniel Adams, Donna Phillips and husband Jason, Scotty Middleton and wife Heather, Terry Middleton and wife Stephanie, and Jackie Middleton; great-grandchildren, Mia and Marissa Idzorek, Kenny and Kortney Wilson, Ryan, Dalton, Hayden, Mason, and Landry Middleton; sister, Rebecca Ruth Schott of Nacogdoches, TX; several nieces, nephews, and cousins. Visitation will be on Sunday, December 12, 2004, from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. at Sparkman/Hillcrest Funeral Home. Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Monday, December 13, 2004, at University Park United Methodist Church. Private family interment service will be at Restland Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texas Scottish Rite Hospital for Children or the University Park United Methodist Church in Dallas. Dignity Memorial Sparkman Hillcrest 7405 W.
