Burks and Susan F. Cromwell, they married in Bonham, TX and moved to KY. Their son William Edmund Burks b. in Louisville, KY b. 1851 returned to Paris, Texas and married Mary Francis Nixon, her mother was Martha Jane Mullins and her dad was William C. Nixon they had 3 children who were James Martin Nixon b. 1857, William C. Nixon b.1861, and Mary Francis Nixon b. b. 1864. Mary Francis Nixon married William Edmund Burks in Paris, TX Nov. 24, 1878 they had 3 children all born in Paris, TX who are William Thomas Burks b. 1880, James Fletcher Burks b. 1882 and Mattie Viola Burks, b. 1895.
