He had a 5-year-old son, B. F. H. Rice. Other information listed about Walter show him to be a cattle buyer who was born in Missouri (and whose parents may have been born in Missouri.) On a marriage index, I found that W. A. Rice married R. L. Hunt in Lamar County, Texas, on 9 Jan 1874. In the IGI, I find a marriage between Walter A. Rice and Clara H. Garrett in Lamar County on 5 Feb 1885.
