    2. I am looking for L.J. Campbell or it could be listed Lee J. Campbell. the family was from Lamar County, Texas. They lived on Beat No 3, Lamar County, TX. I found the info where he served in the 9th Brigade, Texas State Troops, Texas Militia. States he was a Pvt born about 1820. >From the Federal Archives Index of those who served in Louisiana Confederate Army I have 3 different L.J. Campbell's listings. L.J. Campbell, Co A, 9th Battalion, Louisiana Infantry (we think this could be our L.J. as it is thought he was at Manassas. I have the muster card information for this one listed below) L.J. Campbell, Sargent, Co K, (Harrison's) Louisiana Cavalry L.J. Campbell, Co K, 16th Battalion, Louisiana Infantry A little bit of information on L.J. Campbell before he joined one of these Louisiana Company's. We know he left his family in Lamar and went to Louisian to fight in the Civil War. He was gone approx 4 years. I feel sure he and his brother-in-law Ephriam Foster went together. Information on the family: Lee J. Campbell b 1818 MS d abt 1890 TX, m. Ellen Foster ca 1845-48 Jackson Parish, LA. Ellen b 1826 MS d 1872-1873 Lamar, TX. Children: James Madison Campbell b 1848 Ephriam Frank Campbell b 1850 Elizabeth C. Campbell b 1851 Milly A. Campbell b 1852 Sarah Jane Campbell b 1855 Dortha Malvina Campbell b 1860 Amanda Lee Campbell b 1861 Ellen's brother was Ephriam A. Foster b apr 1, 1828 On the one muster card I have, it shows an L.J. Campbell was a Private in Co A, 9th Batt, LA Army. He enlisted May 15, 1862 Camp Moore, LA by Capt R.A. Stewart. Any information on this family would be appreciated. Or knows where to find the rosters for these companies. I have searched most of the civil war sites. Thanks Thelma RockinN@aol.com
