(this is memory lane, so delete if not interested) After seeing the name "Nixon, Tx" several times, I just have to say I know where Nixon is. When I was in the 4th grade (about 1951), we lived 8 miles from that small city of Nixon in a smaller town of Smiley, Tx pop about 200. All the streets in Smiley were sand. My dad was working for a road construction company to pave Main Street. That was a big deal for Smiley. I got bit by a rattle snake (as least that is what I was told it probably was after my knee swollen up to about twice it normal size). I made several trips to Nixon to see the doctor. As a boy, I remember the grass burrs being bad and large ants would make large ant trail (about 3 inches wide) even in the weeded pastures. I know some family names in Smiley, but none in Nixon, just could not resist going back in time. One of the main games us boys played at school was a pocket-knife game called Mummley Peg (spell). I wonder if that is still allowed today.
