Thanks again. Yes I had found WALKER in the 1860 census as well, looking for the ST.CLAIR children, and wondered about the occupation of "Teacher Comfch" that was listed. I am coming to the conclusion that chances are Mary J. TURNER ST.CLAIR did die. However in 1860 she was abt 27, so she would have died between 1860 and 1870, at an early age. How much more do you know about the Lamar Church of Christ? I believe one of my husband's g-grandfathers, J. GRUBBS, may have been a minister/preacher there around 1889, and I need info on him, too.
