Hi Jama, You are facing the same problems as I am, brick walls. My folks came to Lamar Co. sometime between 1841-1845 because the last child was born in TX 1845. ?Where did you find the book? I would love to have one. Whick county line are you thinking? I just might find his grave somewhere near it. He died in 1877. I have a map of originial owners and I will look for his name and get back to you. I see your Charles Lee was in Co G. My Great Grandfather John R. Jones was in Co D. He lived in Lamar Co although Co D was raised in Red RIver Co. I imagine he lived pretty close to the county line. I have a copy of Suffering to Silence which list the men of the 29th. Haven't been able to find out a thing about my John R. Jones except that he lived in Lamar Co from about 1860 - about 1875. I think his wife died then and he went back to Alabama. Does anyone have any land records about that time? He would have sold his farm before 1880 when he shows up in AL. A real brick wall!!
