    1. [TXLAMAR] TXLAMAR-Clyde Brown(1895-1957) and Pearl (Hall) BROWN
    2. Mary A Kunkle
    3. I am looking for information on my relative Clyde Brown. This is the info I have so far: Clyde Born 12 Nov, 1895, Eighty Eight, Barren County, KY Died 23 Oct, 1957 Married Pearl HALL ?????, Paris, Lamar County, TX His niece told me that Clyde and Pearl had a child that either died young or died at birth. The couple left shortly thereafter and moved to Big Spring or somewhere else in West Texas. The family lost touch with them after that. My brother and I have searched everywhere for this man and his family and have come up empty-handed. Below is the family info I have for Clyde and his siblings. This family was heavily involved in the area around Tigertown. I found several Hall names on gravestones in the Tigertown cemetery so feel they must have come from the same area. As late as the 1980's there was a one room store in Tigertown called Brown's Grocery. This was owned by this family. I was told that either Henry D. Brown or Forrest A. Brown owned a candy store in downtown Paris, TX but do not know how to go about proving this. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks much. 1. [TXLAMAR] 1929 Obit of Mrs. B. F. (William Annah Fuller) Ledger
    2. THE PARIS NEWS, 29 Oct. 1929 MRS. B. F. LEDGER DIES ON MONDAY. Widely Known Paris Woman Dies After Two Years Illness. Mrs. William Annah Fuller Ledger, widow of B. F. Ledger who was a prominent business man and banker of the city until his death 24 years ago, passed away at her home on Clarksville street at 5 o'clock Monday afternoon. Prior to her death she had been an invalid following a stroke of paralysis two years ago. Though a descendant of two pioneer families of this county she was born in Smith county on January 14, 1856 where her parents lived temporarily. When but a small child she came to Lamar county with her parents and lived for some years in the Shady Grove community, moving to the city when she was nine. Her parents then resided on a lot where the courthouse is now situated. She was married to B. F. Ledger on October 10, 1872, and they soon afterward built their home on Clarksville street where she resided to the time of her death. At 11 years of age she united with the Methodist church and lived consistently the doctrine she believed, her membership for the period of 62 years with old Centenary and First Methodist churches. As she was loyal to her friends in a degree found in only few people so also was she devoted to any cause espoused by her. A woman of cultural and literary attainment, she left her imprint on a large circle of associates with whom she was connected through the years in literary clubs and other activities. Mrs. Ledger is survived by two children, W. T. , and Miss Beulah Ledger, with whom she resided. She also left one brother, Dr. J. E. Fuller and three nieces, Mrs. Zachie Duvall and Mrs. B. W. Tinnin of Paris and Mrs. George Harper of Williamton, California. In her passing the lines of two large pioneer families are thinned. On the paternal side of her house only her brother remains in the land of her fathers, while on the maternal side only two citizens in the county bear the name. They are an uncle, Dr. A. T. B. Beauchamp of Blossom and a cousin, Tom L. Beauchamp of this city. The funeral services will be held at the home at 3:30 o'clock this afternoon, conducted by her pastor, Dr. F. M. Richardson. Pallbearers will be R. P. Barry, John S. Baker, J. A. Smith, H. W. Tinnin, Dr. J. M. Hooks, Dr. L. P. McCuistion, Tom L. Beauchamp, and R. W. Tinnin. Birth certs start at 1903 BUT they have very few from 1860's, 1870's, 1888 and 1889. I would go to the county where William Luther Bloodworth died in and get a copy of his death certificate or see if you can just get them to show it to you. It should have his parents names on it as well as where he was born. What about his obituary? Another idea would be to try to find a will/probate in the county where his father, James H., died. You can check to see if William was listed as a son and one of the heirs. If you have any other questions just email me back. Good luck. 3. Not necessarily. If you live near Dallas or Houston (forgive me I don't know where you live), then they have two of the best genealogy libraries in the state. I for one try and make the Dallas Public Library at least twice a year (I now live in Wylie and it is about an hour from me).... plus having a 21 month old son makes it a little difficult. Anyhow, I have hit many a brick wall and gone out there only to find a little bitty something that you wouldn't think would be significant-- only to find it opened a door to something HUGE.
