I would gladly help with any expenses as I was told that most of the reocrds are not available online. Also, in Redhill Cememtery, my Great-Grandmothers Mother, Father and two brothers are buried. I would like pictures of the headstones. Also one of my Great-Grandmother's children is buried there. It maybe Thelma Marie or Jewett WEST. These are daughters that did not live to adulthood and so would be buried under their parents names. Thelma Marie was born 20 Oct 1914, and died in Stanley OK 11 Aug 1916. Jewett was born in TX on 20 March 1930 and died a few days later. I am thinking that she was born in the Paris to Clarksville area. Sorry, did not find anything in Lamar County. I would to find out if there is an obituary for my Great Grandmother, Julia Ann Grills she died sometime in 1913 and I am told she is buried in a cemetery in or near Garret Bluffs, Lamar County, TX. That is all the info that I have and I would like to find an exact location of her grave. Thank you in advance, Bob Grills Bend, OR
I am looking for marriage or death records of Littleberry (Berry) Ragan and two of his children, Mary Elizabeth Ragan and James H. Ragan. The Ragan family was listed as Berry Ragin, daughter Mary Elizabeth 11, John H. 9, and twins, Elisa and John 5/12 (no wife or mother) in Hopkins Co., Texas in 1850. The family was listed as L. B. Ragan, with new wife Melinda, and twins Louisa and John in Sebastian Co., Arkansas, Center Twp., in 1860. Since I cannot find any marriage record or death record for either the father or the two children Mary or James in either Hopkins County, TX or Sebastian County, AR, I was hoping that perhaps they were married or died in a nearby county, hence this inquiry in this county. If someone has access to marriage or death records between 1850 and about 1865 in this county, I would appreciate a lookup. Thank you very much.
Debra, You didn't send me your phone number. We are supposed to be leaving Wichita Falls tomorrow to head to San Antonio and right now I should be in Paris sometime Sunday until probably Tues or Wed. I tried to look up Annie E. Coble's obit. There was no such obit. I even got online and checked for her on the SSDI to make sure maybe I was off a month or day....She was not there either. I did find her in the 1900 Federal Census for Lamar County, Precinct 5 with her parents Pruda Smith Coble and John L Coble. It Annie as being 3 years old. Her mother is listed in the Lamar County Cemetery records, as well has her sister Susie L Coble (Kobel) Bearden. Pruda is buried in Evergreen cemetery. Susie is buried in Meadowbrook Cemetery. Maybe if we have the married last name of Annie, we would have more luck. I did not go to the courthouse or I would have checked on that too....before I went to the PJC Library. If I can be of any other help, I am only an email away. Debra in Paris, Tex Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Well, no wonder I could not find her....maybe you need to email _cantorjoeocho@hotmail.com_ (mailto:cantorjoeocho@hotmail.com) too, since she was the one that did the original post in 2006 wanting information. But, then again, she probably gets this list too. Thanks, I was just trying to help. Debra **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. Debra, Annie Elizabeth Coble AKA "Aunt Lizzie" to us family members, will not be found in Lamar Co., Tx cemetery records. She passed away the 25 Feb 2000 just over 103 years of age. She married Henry McGraw in Lamar Co., Tx but they moved to Jackson, Mississippi and that is where she passed away. I had emailed Jim privately with this information but am willing to share if anyone needs any more information on this Coble family. Lizzie was my grandfather's sister and I knew her and most of her sisters very well. Patricia **************************************Check out AOL's list of 2007's hottest products. I also am interested in further info on JoAnna H. Gallivan Daly Thompson, but I have no information beyond what you have. My info is that she was born in Kerry Co, Ireland in 1835. However, you list JoAnna as the widow of Gus D. Thompson. My records indicate that Gus Davis Thompson was her son b. 18 Aug 1872, the last of her five children with Augustus Gustav Thompson. A. G. is the Gus who died in Fannin Co in 1880. JoAnna also had several children by her first husband Daniel Daly. Gus Davis Thompson married into my Gray family. Dennis R. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Author: GerryGieger Surnames: DEBERRY, LOWRY Classification: obituary Message Board URL: http://boards.rootsweb.com/localities.northam.usa.states.texas.counties.lamar/3693/mb.ashx Message Board Post: On November 30, 2007, an Angel came for Mary Jane (DeBerry) Lowry and "busted" her right out the top of Good Shepherd Hospital in Longview TX for her final flight home and into the arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Funeral services are scheduled for 3: p.m. Monday, Dec. 3, at Bright-Holland Funeral Home with Rev. Buddy Greer, Rev. John Purviance, Rev. Kevin Moore and Rev. Jay McCasland officiating. Burial follows in Bogata TX Cemetery. The family receives friends from 7 - 9 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. She was born in Bogata TX on July 25, 1926, to Clarence and Genevieve DeBerry. In 1947, she married James Wilford Lowry at the home of her parents in Bogata. During their marriage they lived in Bogata TX, Huntsville TX, Koontze TX, Boxelder TX, Johntown TX and finally settled in Blossom TX in 1965. Mary Jane was a Daughter of the Republic of Texas. She taught in the school at Blossom until her retirement. She attended school at Bogata, Paris Junior College, and North Texas State University in Denton. She was a charter member of New Hope Baptist Church in Paris TX. She loved her Lord with a passion and it was evident in her every day life. She taught a ladies Sunday School Class at her church and taught a Bible Study each Wednesday morning in Blossom. This group of ladies was the love of her life. She touched many lives during her 81 years on this earth. This was evident from the testimonials given at her 80th birthday party last year hosted by her family. So many people have said that she knew just the right time to send them a card when they were hurting. That was because she listened to the Lord and He prompted her. She was a poet and had several poem books published, the last one being "More Glimpses of Glory." Those waiting to welcome her home are her beloved husband, James Wilford Lowry, her mother and daddy, Genevieve and Clarence DeBerry, her mother-in-law and father-in-law, Alma and Kirb Lowry, her brother and sister-in-law, Dick and Helen DeBerry, and her brother-in-law, Leon Shoffner, and many ancestors who have gone on before - people who Mary Jane traced so diligently through her vast study of her ancestors - people whom she never met until she got "home." Those left to cherish the many memories she left include her daughter, Janie, and husband, Mike Ballard of Gilmer; her God daughter, Glenda, and husband, Jack Ballard, of Texarkana; her grandchildren, Ginnifer Lindsey and husband, Bill, of Hughes Springs, Ryan Ballard and wife, Marla, of Bogata, Marlena Hensarling and husband, Erik, of Houston, Jordan Lowry Ballard of Austin; and the light of her life, her great-grandchildren Ryan Alyssa Lindsey, Carter Stockton Lindsey, Kaytie Jane Ballard and Maggie James Ballard. Also, her sister-in-law, Bobbie Shoffner, of Jefferson; a niece, Diana West, and husband, Bert; great niece Amy Fuller and husband, Gary; great nephew, Brody West; niece, Susan Babb and husband, Al, and niece Janet Bailey, and husband, Tom, along with a host of extended family and many friends. Named casket bearers are her grandsons, nephews and friends to include Ryan Ballard, Bill Lindsey, Jordan Ballard, Erik Hensarling, Brody West, Brian Cox, Carter Lindsey, Chris McKinney, Gary Fuller and Mark Nation. If desired, memorial donations may be made in memory of Mrs. Lowry to Cal Farley's Boy's Ranch, Box 1890, Amarillo, TX 79105-9985 or Gideons International, 875 39th S.E. Paris, TX 75462. Yet those who wait for the Lord will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary. Isaiah 40:31 To all the people whose lives Mary Jane has touched, she would tell you to accept Jesus as your Savior so she can see you in Heaven one day! *** Published 1 December 2007 - The Paris News, Paris Texas *** Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
