William and Lena married in 1908 in Sapulpa, OK and she sent a letter to my grandmother, her sister, from Holly Creek, OK in Aug 1914 asking her to come and help that she and the kids are sick. She died thereafter. R D was 2. So where is the obit on William Riley? Ruth and Lucille are the same person. Her name was Lucille Ruth Lamberson. Gordon Elmo was Ellen's child, the new wife. They had 2 more after that, William L and Marie E. So may I ask are you affiliated with the history people in Lamar Co? Or are you just an advid geneology person. I know this can be quite addictive. I have worked on my grandfather's family (my father) for years and have found 97% of them since they never left Texas. Out of 13 kids only 1 I can not find anything. However I keep coming back to my grandmother, but just can't find her or Lena before they each marry in Sapulpa OK. Know they were born in Missouri, but can't even find their parents. On my grandmother's death certificate my grandfather put unknown for her parents. I was soooo mad!!! Thanks so much for your help, will look up the obit if I can find it. I found Will A. Lamberson and Ella living in Newkirk, Kay Co, Ok. in 1920 with Lucille age 10, R.D. age 7 and Gordon Elmo age 4 months (at least that is what I think)and a slave named Sarah age 27, but no girl named Ruth. Can not find them in 1930 in Oklahoma. On the Lamar County Cemetery lookup site, there is a William Riley Lamberson that died in 1918 has listed a Amanda Ellen Pelchard in 1867 and came to Texas in 1881, that had a chilren listed in his obit named R. D. Lamberson, Sepulpa, Oklahoma; W.E. Lamberson, Newkirk, Or(k); Mrs. J.A. Thompson, Dallas; Mrs. J.D. Dickey, Mrs. Callie Mabry and Mrs. A.R.Moore of Blossom. I do not think this is yours, but it might be the father of your Will Lamberson and your Will might have named his son after an uncle. could be that Lena might be buried at Knights of Honor cemetery, if William Riley was her father-in-law. But since she is not listed on the Lamar County Website, she might not have a tombstone...otherwise, since Will lived before and after she died, in Oklahoma, I would bet she is buried up there somewhere. I hope that this helps...but probably doesn't. Sorry. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Supposedly she died in Holly Creek OK around Aug or Sep 1914. She was married to William Lamberson who later married Ellen Shenold. Her children were Lucille Ruth Lamberson and R D Lamberson. She is supposed to be buried in Paris, TX where relatives of William lived. Her maiden name was Robertson and she was born in St Joseph, MO. That is all I have. Thanks for responding. He was born in Ohio in 1863. He married his second wife, Annie Paine there in 1906. His death certificate says he was buried in Blossom, TX. Cause of death was by arsenic poisoning. This confirms at least part of the family legend that his wife put poison in his tea. She was perhaps employed at a prison or jail in the area. I don't know what happened to her but their 2 minor daughters were returned to Ohio and raised in an orphanage. If anyone can provide any possible cemetery records or anything else I would appreciate it. Thank you. Steve in Ohio Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Here is a new treat from familysearch.org. If you go to their site, and click on the orangish box... upper right hand area, it will lead you to things they have updated. Scroll down and on the left side you will see Texas Death from 1900-? I want to say 1975. Do the search part of it, and it brings up death certificates. You'll probably have to post to her privately. For some reason she unsubscribed to the list. I'd love to see who she's looking for. We had family in that area during that time period.
