He was my great-grandfather, married to my great-grandmother (Della) in the 1910 Census. In the 1920 Census, she lists herself as divorced living with her children, working as a dressmaker. He seems to have dropped out of the system. My great-aunt Lois McClain wrote a letter to my mother stating that his MD certificate was current in 1905 in Texas. Only the address is given. Melanie Metts also lives in Wolfe City, Texas. She has a telephone number. You can find it at whitepages. You asked for those in the area of Paris, Texas. I cannot help you there. I am including the burial record for Charles Taubert, Jr. Name: Charles W Taubert Service Info.: TEC 4 US ARMY WORLD WAR II Birth Date: 16 Sep 1919 Death Date: 5 Jul 1994 Cemetery: Evergreen Cemetery Cemetery Address: 560 Evergreen Street Paris, TX 75460 You probably have the above already. I wrote a book about the Post Oak community along the Lamar and Red River County line and included in the book are about 300 family histories, and among them is the Cardwell family. Please contact me for more info about the book. To help you a little more, I can tell you that Dora Cardwell was born in 1871 to a Mr. Cardwell and the former Mandy Burke. Mandy was a widow by 1880. Dora married a Warrington for a brief time, but the marriage didn't last, and she continued being known by her maiden name. A daughter was born to her in 1897, named Georgia Cardwell. Then in 1902, Dora married Jim McHam and her daughter, Georgia, lived with the McHams and was known by some as Georgia McHam. I have the books if you are interested, which has info on the McHams, the Weir family (Georgia's married name) and many others. I hope I have given you enough info to determine if these Cardwells are related to you. Johnie Lee Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I need the info from two land deeds involving W. R. Thaxton (I believe William Riley Thaxton), one to E. A. Keys (probably his daughter Emma), Book 107:412, and one from J. H. Roy, Book 186:554. Also, I don't have access to probate indexes; I am wondering whether there is probate for W. R. Thaxton, a "well to do farmer" who hanged himself in March 1905, or his wife Sarah, who died after 1903. If anyone can help, just let me know what I can look up for you at the Family History Library.
