Hello Everyone, I was wondering if there is an index to the Lamar County Census available anywhere? I am particularly interested in the 1880 and 1900 census. I plan on visiting a genealogy library sometime next week ( if not sooner) to view the microfilm rolls for those years. It would make things a little easier on me if I knew for certain that the T.I.D.R.O.W family name was listed in the area for those years. Here's the story -I have ancestors who were married in Lamar County in 1876 and also in 1900 - my problem is they liked to travel between Lamar County, TX and Choctaw County, OK on a regular basis. I do know that some of their children were born in Lamar County shortly after the 1900 marriage which is why I am starting here instead of in Choctaw County, OK. I have checked the 1880 statewide index for T.I.D.R.O.W family members with no luck. I was hoping that with the smaller county index my luck would improve. The T.I.D.R.O.W surname is uncommon (in my experience) and very difficult to locate so far. I have been unable to locate any index for the statewide 1900 - I am guessing this is because it is on soundex. If I try to use the soundex it gives me every surname from tater to teeter but not what I am looking for. This is what brings me to posting this here. I would appreciate any help or advice concerning this matter. Sincerely, Dona

I'm here and this is the most action I've seen since I joined. I'm looking for Phillips & Key/Kees/Keyes and probably any other spelling. They all lived in the Caviness district of Paris, Lamar County. The Key's are connected to Nail/Nell/Nale surname & 2 daughters married into the Brumley & Bollinger surnames. On the Phillips side a daughter married into the Robinson family. I know the Key's were there in 1886 and am not sure when Sarah Davis Phillips brought her 3 children there, except that it was probably about the same time Bobbye ----- Original Message ----- From: sinca <sinca@chickasaw.com> To: <TXLAMAR-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, November 02, 1999 9:59 AM Subject: [TXLAMAR-L] SAWYER & CAPERS in Lamar Co. > This is an interesting way to do a roll call, but I'm here, too!
