    2. I spent several hours last night going over the Death/Marriage/Birth lists for Texas; what a find! I, too, found some difficulty with the lists, however; only one of my eight siblings was listed and our mother's name was misspelled! I was able to use it to verify a lot of information that I had collected. The usefulness to me far outweighed the errors.

    1. [TXLAMAR-L] GERON-HODGE
    2. I am researching various African American families of Lamar County. My ggrandmother was Elizabeth Geron who married Luke Hodge, Sr. I haven't been able to find anything on her birth family. I have the book Solomon Geron and His Descendants written by Jewell Woodard. She writes that a negro man was captured during the War of 1812 by Simeon Geron. He reared him and brought him to Lamar County, along with his family in 1854. This man later was the head of the Negro Gerons there. Does anyone have info any info on this man's and his family? Thanks. Jean
