The only Dripping Springs I have ever heard of is located outside of Sherman, Texas. It was a gateway of sorts for people entering or passing through Texas. There is a large cemetery there with a multitude of people from all states buried there. You might check it out with the Sherman public library genealogy section. There is also a very good genealogy group in Denison, Texas just a few miles north of Sherman who also might be able to help. I can tell you all his children and most of their children. I can give you copies of deeds where he bought and sold land in Lamar County. But I can not tell you his parents. His wife Catherine McKinney O'Connor was from Ohio. She married her first husband WIlliam O'Connor there and it was from there they moved to Texas. Orin was a ME minister in 2 maybe 3 different districts in Ohio before moving to Texas. So he moved from NY to Ohio. The census records show his parents were born in Vermont. Does this help. Tonya

Jones, an executive of an international accounting firm and a notable worker for civic, cultural and charitable organizations, died of cancer Thursday in a Houston TX hospital. He was 56. At the time of his death, Jones was managing partner of the Houston office of Deloitte & Touche, where he had worked for 35 years. With 1,200 employees, the office is the largest accounting firm in Houston, said Jerry Bennett, the firm's regional public relations manager. Jones "approached every task, both in business and in his personal life, with utter determination and absolute competence," said Grant Cook, a lawyer and friend. "Everything he did was done extremely well." Among the organizations that Jones served in as a board member are the Greater Houston Partnership, Junior Achievement of the Southwest and Theater Under the Stars. In 2002, the University of Houston-Downtown honored Jones as an Outstanding Volunteer for his work as chairman of the Red Rose Ball fund-raising event in 1999 and 2000. He also headed the UHD President's Advisory Council. Jones also raised funds for the art project at the University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center, which sells Christmas cards featuring the drawings of children who are patients at the hospital.
