On the Kaufman county website, I find a listing for County Attorneys since 1876 which lists J. E. Bass, Nov. 13. 1906. Is there any other information relating to this person? My father, Elvis P. Stone, the son of J. H. Stone and Missouri F. Fisher Stone, said he had a cousin named Beatrice Bass whose father was the "prosecuting attorney" in Kaufman county. I find a Beatrice Bass, age 8, in the household of Rufus Bass, who was 68, in the 1910 census for Kaufman county living on the Ables Springs and Terrell Road. I do not find her in the 1920 census which means she had either (1) died; (2) married; (3) moved from Kaufman county; or (4) married and moved. On the part of the website which lists the Kaufman county Civil War Veterans, Rufus Nealy Bass is listed as being buried in the College Mound Cemetery with the dates 18 Feb 1842 - 23 Oct 1922, Mississippi, Co C 21st Tn Cav and references that the information came from an obit. Is it possible to get a copy of the obit? Thanks for your help on the above questions. Thank you. LaFon (Stone) Commander <lafon2red@aol.com>
