Concerning the genealogy department at the library. . . how far do their records go back. I'm seeking information concerning a death in 1887. Should I contact them, or go directly to the courthouse? On 1850 Henderson Co TX census his mother was with him-name Sarah Carter born SC circa 1795. he came here with 3 known siblings: Brothers Michael J Carter who was 211 in 1850 & died here in 1849.
