His father was Barney Guynes. Barney was killed in the Civil War in 1864. Probably in Mississippi. His Wife Catherine eventually went to live with her 6 children in Crandell Texas, Kaufman County. I have a lot of information on the Guynes family. My Boyd family apparently lived near the Guynes in South Carolina, Missippi and Texas. They intermarried in several instances. I went to three Boyd reunions this summer and in all of them there were people who were related to the Guynes and Boyd families. I could go on and on about the family history.
