Harriet Sullivan, birthdate unknown, born in Illinois, moved with her family to the Republic of Texas. She married William Gibbard on Feb 28, 1843. She died Jan. 14, 1849. William Gibbard was born in 1817 in Bedfordshire, England, moved to U.S. at age 14. They had four children, a son, Edward, who died in infancy (b. Nov. 1847-d. Jan. 1848) and three daughters, Minerva Ellen (b. 1844), Mary Elizabeth (b. 1845-d. 1925)), and Ann (b. 1848). He afterward married Elizabeth Newton and had children, William Patrick (b. 1851), Robert Forney (b. 1853-d. 1890)), John James (b. 1855-d. 1926), Fredonia Arbelle (sic) (b. 1857-d. 1895), and Thomas (d. 1859-d. 1880). William Gibbard and Harriet Sullivan Gibbard are buried in Cedar Grove, Kaufman County. White Rose Cemetery, either both or one of them. Mary Elizabeth Gibbard married David Garrett. They had children: Constance, William, Frank, Wylie, Lovie, and Minerva. (All the above information from Hobart Key, Jr., who attributes it to Wylie and Lovie Garrett, Jack Gibbard, and Lillie Pate Garrett, among other sources.) Any information on Harriet Sullivan's family, including parents, siblings, and their descendants , would be of great interest as I have nothing about the Sullivan family of Harriet and Cedar Grove.
