McNorton, 25, br abt 1834 in NC. He is shown as a Merchant. His wife was Edna [indexed as Edner], 25 br abt 1834, AL and their child was John N. McNorton, 1, br abt 1858, TX. The Texas Marriage Collection 1814-1909 has a marriage 24 Dec 1866 between Mrs. E. A. McNorton and Ludwig Anderson in Smith Co, TX. The 1870 census for Cherokee Co, TX has Leutrot [should have been Ludvig] Anderson living with Edney [should be Edna] Anderson, 34, br abt. 1836, AL and John McNorton, 11, br abt 1959, TX. The 1880 census for Cherokee Co, Texas has Ludrick [should have been Ludvig] Anderson living with Edna Anderson 44, br abt 1836, AL and two Anderson children. Loftin Cemetery, Smith Co, TX has tombstones for Ludvig Anderson, br 7 Aug 1837, d. 30 Dec 1928 and Edna Anderson b. 10 Oct 1836, d. 7 Feb 1899. I have been unable to locate R. J. McNorton br abt 1834, NC on any census after the 1860 census. Nor have I found any burial location for R. J. McNorton. Assuming John McNorton, child of R. J. and Edna, 1 yr old in 1860 in Kaufman Co is the same John McNorton 11 yr old in 1870 living with Ludvig and Edna Anderson in Cherokee Co and that Mrs. E. A. McNorton married to Ludvig Anderson in 1866 is the same person as Edna McNorton, wife of R. J. McNorton in 1860, then perhaps R. J. McNorton died between 1860 and 1866. And information on R. J. McNorton would be appreciated. I am not related but working on a special project and would like to know what happened to R. J. McNorton. Since he is shown as a merchant in Kaufman Co in 1860 any additional information on what store, etc, military service or death , burial location, anything... Thanks, Rex Kirby
