I have a book entitled "The Civil War Letters of David R. Garrett - Detailing the Adventures of the 6th Texas Cavalry 1861-1865" edited by Hobart Key, Jr. and Max S. Lale. At the time I bought this book I thought maybe this David Garrett might be related to other Garretts in Kaufman County, TX who were descended from Presley Garrett of McNairy Co., TN. but I have never been able to make any connection.
