Just thought I'd offer a bit of information re: surname Boykin. The state dog of SC is the Boykin Spaniel. I did a search using "born in" South Carlina and "died in" Texas. Turned up a number of Boykin entries. Also, I'm sure you who are in the Boykin family have checked the Boykin/Boykins community. I subscribe to Kaufman Co. because I have family from there.
