Tx Queries Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Tx/Kaufman/11090 Surname: Barnes, Moorman ------------------------- Am looking for Emmitt Dennis Barnes b. in Tennessee about 1845 and died in Kaufman County, Texas, probably in Terrell Texas and buried (supposedly)in the Rose Hill Cemetery along with his wife Sarah Jacobs wh was also b. in Tennessee. The son of this couple, my Gr-gr-gr- grandfather, Lee Grant Barnes married Lucinda Moorman. Lee Grant was married in Kaufman, Kaufman County, Texas. Any helps or lead would be appreciated very much. However, your Lucinda Moorman was a double Moorman, descended from Long Benjamin Moorman and Margaret Rebecca Moorman. Margaret Rebecca was a sister to my GG grandmother, Martha Elizabeth Moorman, (1831-1921). Her son, Henry Wallace Miller, moved to Kaufman County around the turn of the century. His daughter, Ola Lee Miller, married Walter Dorough, my grandfather. Interestingly, two of Walter's uncles married into the Barnes' family when they were still living in Lincoln County, TN. William Jefferson Dorough married Lucy Orlena Barnes and Alan Thomas Dorough married Sarah "Sallie" Barnes. I know of a book entitled "Two Hundred Years of Our Barnes, Halbert and Denham Families" published in October 1979, although I have never actually seen the book. I wonder if that book would possibly mention your Emmitt Dennis Barnes? Just a thought. Good luck in your search. Debbie Wein Aurora, CO
