Does anyone know if Kaufman happened to have a City Directory in 1890. If they did, I wonder who might have access to it, that is, a library or someone of that nature. Does Kaufman have a Genealogical Society I might contact? Thanks. Margaret

I'm not familiar with an 1890 City directory. There was a statewide Texas directory done in 1892 and I have the parts of it that deal with Kaufman county towns (Kaufman, Terrell, Forney, Kemp, etc). These directories were pretty much strictly merchants, etc.-- not everyone who lived in the town. > Does Kaufman have a Genealogical Society I might contact? There is a society in Kaufman called "Pastfinders"-- but I'll have to defer to others who are more familiar with the organization to tell you more about it. Justin M.
