It sounds like it could have been a remake of the same movie. Since I thought it was a scam, I never thought about seeing a copy of it. I have just been trying to find a newspaper article about it. I too remember my line. The scene was being filmed in the Terrell park and I was with a gang of kids that was supposed to look for the missing girl. My line was "Gosh, can I go too?' I had always been told by my Mom to never say gosh or darn, that they were bad words. I couldn't have been but 4 or 5 and I remember the director trying and trying to get me to say my line. As I remember, the director finally gave up and filmed the scene and there went my only chance to a speaking part in a movie. My mom had always been forbidden by her father to say any( by words0 as well and I never heard her say them until--- Christmas before last she had a severe stroke and couldn't walk again. She was completely paraylized on her left side and had to be fed and lifted. She was confused and couldn't talk plainly. She was in so much pain for the rest of her life that when she was moved, she would say, "Golly, gosh, darn, gee, " in garbled speech. I told her nurses that she had never said that and I guess that was the closest she could come to swearing when her pain got too bad. She passed from this life in March. of this year. I just wish that I could find someone that remembers the name of the movie or at least the year. If I had the year, maybe I could get someone to locate a newspaper article on it. I am sure that there had to have been something in the paper since I am sure that was a big event in the city of Terrell at that time. Thanks again for responding to my post. Gwen

In about 1952, a movie company came to our neighborhood in Southeast Dallas (Urbandale/Parkdale) and made a movie using local kids. It was also about a girl who had been kidnapped. I remember even now my line, "Do you mean she's really been kidnapped?" I think our parents had to pay a fee for us to participate. I don't think it was a scam as I saw the film at least twice at our local theater. How I would love to have a copy of that film. I wouldn't know where to begin to find one if it exists.
I wonder if they came to the attention of the local chamber of commerce when they came to town to make that movie? Most keep records of things on a yearly basis/ At 11:33 PM 9/28/05 -0600, you wrote: >This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > >Surnames: Hebel, Whittenberg >Classification: Query > >Message Board URL: > >http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FkB.2ACE/1526.1 > >Message Board Post: > >Hi Gwen, I can't help you find an article, but I remember a similar experience.
