    1. Re: Harriett Sullivan married to Mr. Gilbert
    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FkB.2ACE/1078.1 Message Board Post: Is it possible that your source for Harriet Sullivan's husband "Gilbert" should have read or been Gibbard? Harriet Sullivan, birthdate unknown, born in Illinois, moved with her family to the Republic of Texas. She married William Gibbard on Feb 28, 1843. She died Jan. 14, 1849. William Gibbard was born in 1817 in Bedfordshire, England, moved to U.S. at age 14. They had four children, a son, Edward, who died in infancy (b. Nov. 1847-d. Jan. 1848) and three daughters, Minerva Ellen (b. 1844), Mary Elizabeth (b. 1845-d. 1925)), and Ann (b. 1848). He afterward married Elizabeth Newton and had children, William Patrick (b. 1851), Robert Forney (b. 1853-d. 1890)), John James (b. 1855-d. 1926), Fredonia Arbelle (sic) (b. 1857-d. 1895), and Thomas (d. 1859-d. 1880). William Gibbard and Harriet Sullivan Gibbard are buried in Cedar Grove, Kaufman County. White Rose Cemetery, either both or one of them. Mary Elizabeth Gibbard married David Garrett. They had children: Constance, William, Frank, Wylie, Lovie, and Minerva. (All the above information from Hobart Key, Jr., who attributes it to Wylie and Lovie Garrett, Jack Gibbard, and Lillie Pate Garrett, among other sources.) Any information on Harriet Sullivan's family, including parents, siblings, and their descendants , would be of great interest as I have nothing about the Sullivan family of Harriet and Cedar Grove.

You and I are researching the same line, of Clemmons/Litterall. Sarah Litterall Clemmons was my ggggrandmother. The Clemmons/Newman/Powers families all intermarried. Several of them are buried in Elmo Cemetery in Kaufman County. I have never found a grave for Sarah. I think that she, like so many, were probably buried in a grave with only a wooden or paper marker on it. The grave, of course, now is lost. Please let me know what you have garnered on the family (if you have sent this info before, please excuse me). I look forward to hearing from you. By the way, do you have a copy of Sarah's marriage license to Mr. Samuel Newman? If not, I would be glad to send you one. Sharon Tucker

As for Alice's film, I have no idea, perhaps with a name. I like to think of myself as an old movie buff. Gwen, since you actually saw your film twice on the screen, I'm guessing that you probably remember the name of it . . . I recently found a website that has a pretty good selection of older black and white films (they're my favorites). I found an old Ethel Waters film there I was looking everywhere for, "On With the Show!" which was made in 1929! Why not try there, they may have it: www.imdb.com If your movie ran in a theatre, even a local one, there are copies and somewhere they're sitting on a shelf waiting for their audience to view/purchase it one more time. Good Luck!

I hear this ALL the time here in Florida..and mostly it is intentional...No respect. But..as a former resident of Kaufman County and the beautiful state of Texas I ask you to NOT blame all kaufman county people or the state itself. It sounds like someone needs to pick up the ball in Kaufman County and maybe someone out there might have a contact email address or phone number to a TV station that has a problem solving hot line like they do in so many states. It's AMAZING what kind of fast action one gets when the poo hits the fans on The TV news station at prime time in the evening!! LOL..Works wonders here in Florida. I know there must be really caring people in Kaufman County..this just needs to get to the right ears...and so many ears are tuned into the TV. Can anyone supply a phone number or email address for a TV station for these people? As for Bush..well.. He's got himself in enough mess with dead and tragically wounded soldiers so a couple of lost bodies won't be high on his agenda. I hope you can take some comfort in the fact that Our Creator knows where ALL are buried. No one can take our memories of our loved ones from us. Licia

The names on the headstones are E.L. Pettit & John W. Pettit The first grave is suppose to say "Mother" on it and ther other is says "Father". These are my great Great grandparents and am trying to get a little "report" ready for my mom's 83rd birthday as a surprize. I am not sure where in Kaufman this Cemetery is located other than the Northest section of the county. The site does not give any directions to it like it does for the other cemeteries. If anyone knows where this is located and/or is willing to do this I would be most grateful and could compensate you somewhat for gas ? I live in Florida now and cannot leave mom now.
