    2. Dear Listers: I am helping my son-in-law to trace one of his father's lines and they apparently lead to your county. We are trying to find further information on Edward Sterling Knox b. May 1862 as to his parents and siblings. He married Sarah Anna Phillips 1885 somewhere in Texas and she was born May 1869. We are also trying to find further information on her parents and siblings. This family was in Justice Precinct #3 in the 1900 census with the following children: Locky dau. b. 1886, Elcy dau b. 1889, Nona dau b. 1890, Rollin son-twin b. 1891, Ollin son-twin b. 1891, Lenard son b. 1894, Mertie/Myrtle dau b. 1896. He only had sisters. I have the names of all of his children. I have not seen your ancestors name in my family records. Thomas fathers name was Bennett Smith. There was another Bennett Smith in McNairy County besides Thomas father. This other Smith family lived close to my family. Somewhere down the line I am thinking we are related. Do you know if you are descendant of the other Bennett Smith? I have been sent wills and land deeds by mistake from a cousin who was living in the McNairy Co. area- not all of the records are for my family but other Smiths. Let me go through them and see if I see your ancestors name on any of them. I will let you know.

He deed his interest in the farm to my 2nd great grandfather his brother and to his borther Benjamin F. Green neices and moved back to Texas. Tom Green died at Telephone, TX , Feb 29, 1923. P. S. I would appreciate any information on Green borthers (William, Thomas, and Benjamin) stay in Kaufman County, TX.

Croy is living with William & Toy L. Vess as a step-daughter. There are younger Croy children and step-siblings. 1900 Kaufman County Census John W. & Toy Croy, no children. The Texas Birth Index lists five children of Frank and Josephine, and her name is listed as Murphrey in four of them. The fifth, she's listed as Murphy. Hubert and Audrey have four children listed in the Index, his middle name is Grady. 1930 Dallas, Dallas County, Texas Census Henry & Rosa Murphrey and children Rosa, Lorena, Hubert, Amie M. and Josephine. Grandma's name was Cora Ellen (Freiley) Pigg. I know of 4 siblings: brothers Sam and Sterling and sisters Belle Freiley and Mary (Freiley) Beadles. Cora (1868-1941), Belle(1870-1935), Sam (1857-1943), & Sterling (1861-1941), are buried in Ipava, IL; Mary (1850?-1937) in Butler County, KS. Grandma (Cora) married my grandfather Lewis Paul Pigg in Illinois on 2/1 1896.. Cousins Tom Allinger (son of William Thomas and Harriet) and my father Lewis Dale Pigg lived and worked together, along with friend Julian Miller, in Nebraska and western Oklahoma in the early 1930s when they all were still single.. About 1950, Tom Allinger lived in Muscogee, OK and Julian Miller in Dumas, TX. Dad returned to IL around 1932 after a few years "out west." He passed away last month here in central IL, nearly 97 in age. I would love to see the Allinger photo(s) and share any other family info.
