John was my uncle. My dad (Jack) is Johns baby brother and he and one sister- Lid are still living. I am a Genealogist and can tell you so much on the Smith's and Chandler's as well. Our grandma Vera Smith lived with my mom and dad for many years. My dad cared for her after his father died. I live in Kaufman County and am in touch with many relatives if you want to contact anyone. Which is your father in law? Alvin, Truman, Nolan or Joe? There is another brother Jimmy you may not know about. I have a family web site with many pictures you might want to see. I have attached 3. One is of Grandpa Henry with Uncle Onroe and John and a friend. I am not sure if John in the one on the far right or the middle- if Johns boys saw the picture they should be able to tell, then there is a picture of Johns sister Lid with his wife Valtie and a picture of Henry and Vera with ! their 2 younger sons- Jack and Sonny. Please contact me at julieo28@hotmail.com. I am looking forward to hearing from you. Your cousin in law- Julie Smith Oliver

Hey All! I was approached today about the possibility of doing a photographic history of Terrell. I am looking for any images of your ancestors and other historic images to submit and also include in the book. If you choose to submit, please include your name, location of photo if known, who and/or what is in your photo, and the year. Images should not be newer than 1960 and the older the better. If chosen, it may be necessary to have the original picture which I've been told will be returned. The reason is because they want to get the best resolution they can. I appreciate any help. Thank You for your time. Sincerely, Donna Clemmons-Allen Lewis Tom Clemmons Descendant

The TTC will roughly parallel the current I-35 and could be located in this county. Currently a 10 mile wide path and an alternate path are being studied to determine final placement of the corridor. There will be a public hearing Terrell ISD Performing Arts Center, 400 Poetry Rd. on July 19, 2006. The hearing will begin with an open house at 5 p.m. so that residents can review maps of the preferred corridor alternative and ask questions of highway department staffers. The presentation and oral comments begin at 6:30 p.m. TxDOT is asking for input from citizens about the location of historical sites and family cemeteries among other information. Those of you doing research in this county know far more about the local and family historical sites than anyone else. You have an important chance to share your expertise with TxDOT by attending one of their meetings or completing a comment form.
