I have found a listing in the 1900 census for Kaufman Co. showing a: Charles A. Hernson ( Henson ) as Head b. Sept 1877 Mary C. __________ as Mother b Feb 1824 Harriet E. Sage as Aunt b. Sept 1844 My problem is that Mary C. Sage married Irwin Pemberton in Dallas Co. Jun 7 1868 . Is there any reccord of this other Marrage about 1876? And what happened to Irwin? I show him to have died in 1929 in Austin Tx. Can anyone help. Thanks Walter

To reach the Kaufman City Cemetery from EAST on I-20, take the Hwy 34 exit at Terrell TX. Go SOUTH 10 miles to Kaufman. The road will dead end. Turn Right and go to the Kaufman Town Square (about 1 mile). At the signal light on the Square turn Right (NORTH) on Washington St. Follow it until it ends at the gate of the cemetery. If you will let me know when you are coming I will meet you there. I live here in Kaufman about 1.5 miles from the cemetery. I know the cemetery very well & can pretty much take you to any grave you are needing to see. Contact me direct for my phone # Kathey Kelley Hunt Cemetery Preservation Commissioner Kaufman County Historical Commission
Can someone tell me where the Kaufman City Cemetery is located when coming from the east on Interstate 20?
>From I20, take the Texas 34 exit in Terrell south to Kaufman. Follow Texas 34 to the court house square in Kaufman. At the square, turn right and go straight on Washington St. north to the cemetery. Justin Sanders Mobile, AL

Don't know for sure about Mr. Barnes, but the Family History Center near you. . .at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, or Mormon Church. . . .can provide you with a microfilm of persons buried in that cemetery. Its # 1398600 Title of record - Item 6 Texas Obits, 1832-85. There are several cemetery listings on this microfilm, and might be worth looking into. Good luck! Posted on: Kaufman Co. Tx Queries Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/Kaufman/11132 Surname: Pemberton, Gray, Porter ------------------------- I don't have more on Alfred at all. He doesn't have a death certificate on 1903 -- 1940 TX death index microfilm that I recognize. There is a lady with a Pemberton database on Rootsweb WorldConnect, who maintains that Alfred and Nancy Caroline had two children, and that Ida Jane Holly was Alfred's second wife. Our Pembertons are peripheral to her main interest. I've not verified all the information she has, but so far, so good. She believes that Alfred and G.W. (aka Gideon W., George W., or Washington) were brothers, the sons of Gideon Pemberton and Mahala Koger, and that all show together on the 1850 Dallas Co., TX census. I'm not a Pemberton, but it looks like Elizabeth Ann "Liza" Porter who married G. W. Pemberton was the sister of my gg grandfather Benjamin Franklin "Frank" Porter. It looks like Nancy Caroline Gray who married Alfred Pemberton was the sister of my gg grandmother Elizabeth Ann "Bettie" Gray. Bettie Gray was Frank Porter's wife. Would love to exchange information, if you would like. I believe I've found Nancy Caroline Gray's family on the 1850, 1860, and 1870 censuses.
