You have done a pretty good job yourself. Looking at the tax rolls in Kaufman County, I was mainly trying to find the father of Wm F.so your information is appreciated. I found R.S. Frasier on tax roll in 1859 then no more. I thought he might have been involved in the Civil War but that didn't pan out. We, too, have thought that possibly WCT was an uncle of Wm F. We have no idea as to who WCT's siblings were. WCT [48 in 1861]was in the 12th TX Cavalry, Co F as was Richard Frazier [24 in 1861 who died in Arcadia, LA. Oct 27 1863. James J Frazier [age 21 in 1861] also in the 12th TX Cavalry, Co C died during the war. Thought this Richard might be the one but he seems too young to be Wm F's father. Your observation that Harriet Patterson was the wife of WCT is interesting. I saw the name on the tax rolls also. How do you explain that WCT and Harriett were living in Panola Co in 1850? I had thought he married Harriett Pinson in Montgomery Co, TN.but certainly could be wrong. I have no proof to base it on.

I went to three Boyd reunions this summer and in all of them there were people who were related to the Guynes and Boyd families. I could go on and on about the family history. They are Kathy Kelly Hunt, Justin M.Sanders and Jody Anderson. These three among others have helped me tremendously (sorry I can't think of the others, but them too) Again I say Thanks to all. A. Looks like his wife Harriett was the widow of a man named Patterson. WCT appears on the 1860 through 1866 Kaufman Co tax rolls (except for 1865) owning 220 ac of the "Harriett Patterson" survey-- there is no such survey in Kaufman Co, but there is a John M. Patterson survey in the SW part of the county right on the Henderson Co line. This is also the part of the county where the Pyles, Gentry, Burrell, etc. families lived, so perhaps Wm F was a nephew to WCT. He (WCT) doesn't appear in any later tax rolls, so he must have moved away after 1866. In the 1872, 73, 74, and 75 tax rolls, a Wm Frazier is listed in Prec 5 (which is that part of the county)-- he owned no land, but is taxed for a horse and a few head of cattle. I presume this is your Wm F. He doesn't appear in later tax rolls, so he must have moved to Bell Co around 1876. Justin M. Sanders Mobile, AL

I had the same thought; however, Wm A and WCT were living neighbors in Mason Co in 1880. Wm F and wife Mellie were living in Bell Co. Wish it were true because it would make things simpler. Most likely our Wm is missing in someone else's research. Only his immediate kin would know about him. In 1850, he was yet to be born, in 1860 we can't find him in the census. In 1870 he is living with Wm Burrell in Kaufman Co and in 1880 is married and living in Bell Co. There is nothing to tie him to a Frazier family except court records if there are any.

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/FkB.2ACE/1033.1 Message Board Post: [The previous query asked about the possible father of William Francis Frasier, born c 1852] In the 1860 Census of Kaufman County, there is a W.C.T. Frazure (Dwell/Fam 164/164) who has a son listed as Wm. A. aged 8. This is taken from a transcript of the census, and given the horrible handwriting of the census taker in 1860, it is quite possible that the middle initial could be transcribed incorrectly. It is also possible that William, like his father had two middle names-- Francis and something beginning with A. (like Asbury). W.C.T. served briefly in Co G, 12th Texas Cavalry, but was discharged in Feb 1862 for rheumatism (he was in his late 40's)-- an abstract of his service record is on the Kaufman County GenWeb page in the Civil War section. >From the age of W.C.T.'s other children in the 1860 Census, he should be in Texas in the 1850 Census (he's not in Kaufman or Henderson).
