Surnames: Morgan and Jones Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/BkB.2ACE/831 Message Board Post: I am preparing the 75 year history for the United Pentecostal Church, in Diboll, TX. This is also the 50th anniversary for Rev. Elzine Strong's pastorate there. I am seeking information about Rev. Harry B. Morgan who had the pastorate there in the 1940's. I know that he left Diboll for the pastorate at Starks Louisiana and that he founded the Pentecostal church in Lunita just a few miles from Starks, he left there about 1952 for another church possibly in Florida and then to a church in Atlanta, Georgia. Rev. Morgan may have died about 1981 in Atlanta. His funeral was held in possibly Jefferson Co. Texas. Please help me locate an obituary, or cemetery, or possibly his family. My timeframe is short and this is a brick wall, this is my histography project for a course at Sam Houston State University for this spring semester. Any help is appreciated. I cant say that I have ever heard of him. I am though very intrested in the Choate family because a lot of my decendants are Choates. I am especially intrested in Two brothers named David and John that supposedly moved to Texas from Louisiana. I have ran across Spanish land grants in David Choates name in Jefefrson county also in John Choates name in Hardin county but have no idea if these two guys are even part of our Choate family. There have been stories down through the years that some of our Choate family did move to Texas for a while or longer. My grandfather was named Sydney Choate my great grandfather was named Holston Choate and my great, great grandfather was named David John Choate and my great, great, great grandfather was John Choate Jr. Needless to say this search has been going on for many, many years in my family. Family members have died and gone away searching for a! ll the answers maybe one day God willing all of the pices will come together. If you think that you may have any infotmation that could help please drop me a line. Thanks, Shannon Duhon
