You gave the death date of Joseph Washburn as Sept 20, 1932--I looked up the obit one or two days after Sept 20. Are you sure about the death date of Sept 20, because I looked in the tx death indexes and found Joseph Washburne, Cherokee CO TX and the death date was listed as Sept 30, 1932. I did not look in Oct 1 or 2 which would be the dates to look at if he died on Sept 30. When I will go back to the library next week I will check on this.

My husband's father lived in China as a boy. There is nothing written on these pictures to identify them but it is my guess that they are from the old China school. I have not been able to identify anyone in the photos. I can e-mail them to you and maybe your relatives can identify them. I heard that there was an old China school reunion a few months ago. Do you know anyone who may have attended the reunion? Let me know if you want me to e-mail these to you. C Ford

My husbands mother and father, along with their siblings and cousins attended China School when they first moved here from Louisiana all those years ago. They may be included in those pictures and it would mean so much to my husband and his brother, to have a copy of them. If you have a scanner, I would appreciate a copy of all the pictures you have of the children from China?. We live in Beaumont, which is only a few miles from China, Tx. Thank you so much Mr. Canter for posting your find.
