Surnames: Debney Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/AkB.2ACE/393 Message Board Post: The above named is my great uncle who emigrated to the USA on board the SS Philadelphia that left Southampton on 12th January 1907 arriving in New York on 20th January 1907. He was meeting his brother Alfred William Debney who resided in Jasper, Texas, no other detail than that. From my research it would appear that William was shot and killed by "mistake" in Jasper County some time in 1924. I was wondering if any other researcher has any information on this incident and whether he was married and left a family. Ronnie Sewell Balloch, Scotland. I am not related directly to this family, one of Alfred's sons, George Charles, married into a well rooted East Texas family, and that's how his family is included in my database.. George just passed away in May of this year. I don't show that William Thomas Debney had a family. He is listed in the Census of Jasper County in 1910 and 1920, as single and living in the household of his brother Alfred and his family. William Thomas Debney, is buried in Jasper City Cemetery, with his brothers, Alfred and George and their father James Debney. Alfred is the only one that I show was ever married. I hope this helps you in some way. Sincerely. Yolanda
