Hi there cousins! Does anyone have a George T. Wood in their family tree? I know he was one of the first arrivers to Texas, but would like to see if he was also part of the Wood family that I'm a part of! If you have anything, please let me know and if it should correspond with anything I have and would help anyone on the list, I will post it to the list! Thanks a bunch! Linda
Hello Linda, I don't know if this will help you or not, but William Whitehead, the physician in Polk Co., TX, married Elizabeth Gindrat in 1852. She was a stepdaughter of George T. Wood. You can see her and William's listing on website concerning William Whitehead (father of William) children at http://pages.prodigy.net/procyon/swepson/william.html. You might try e-mailing the two ladies heading up that research, there is a link for such on that page, and asking for more info on the Woods as I am pretty certain they have more. I had corresponded with them about a year ago on Whiteheads and remember there was more on the Wood line, however, I am not a descendant of the Woods so took very little notice of that info. Hope this might help give you a lead.
