Thomas was married first to John A. Powell who was killed in the Civil War. My grandmother believed it was 1863 and in Arkansas but no proof of this fact. Lucy had two children by John. John Walter Powell and Emma Luvenia Powell. I am a descendant of Emma. I have searched for Lucy's family and AA Thomas seemed the best possibility for Lucy's father.
