I have some information on the Swinney family, most of which you probably have. Moses and Nancy Swinney appear on the Jasper Co. Census for 1860, 1870, and 1880. Moses also appears in the Jasper Co. Commissioners Court Minutes, Vol. A. I have as children Adeline, b. ca. 1845 in Ark, who married a Sexton; Amanda, b. ca. 1861 in Tx; Bluford A., b. ca. 1855 in Tx, who married Sarah Jones; Emmab. ca. 1866 in Tx; Isabella T, b. c. 1853 in Tx, who married a Wilson; Martha A. E., b. ca. 1848 in Ala., who married a Smith; Maud, b. ca. 1870 in Tx; Nancy, b. ca. 1851 in La; Samuel H., b. ca. 1859 in Tx, who married Mattie E. Horn. There were some other Swinneys in Jasper Co. that I don't have connected, such as Charlotte, b. ca. 1835 who married a Monk, and F. J. Swinney, who appeared in JCCCM Vol A. I also didn't have your gggrandmother, Melissa. When was she born? Most of my info comes from the census and marriage records of Jasper Co, so I must have missed her somehow. Hope this helps. Swinney, born 15 April, 1826, in Georgia. His wife was Nancy Wilson, born 16 May, 1827, also in Georgia. They settled in Jasper County, and are both buried there. Their daughter, Melissa, who married Thomas C. Thomas, was my gggrandmother. Any information would be appreciated. > > > ============================== > Search over 1 Billion names at Ancestry.com! > http://www.ancestry.com/rd/rwlist1.asp > >
