    1. Re: [TXJASPER] Gifford Jackson
    2. John & Linda Kyle
    3. Dear Cheryl & Yolanda, Thank you so much for checking for me! Yes, Ad Moses is my grandfather, William K. Jackson is my gr grandfather, Gifford Jackson would be a half great Uncle, if I get this "Cousintry" right! By finding Gifford and his sibs, I am hoping to find out more about their father, my gr grandfather, William K. Jackson. I suppose that I will try Orange County next and so forth, as well as send a letter to Liberty County. I just received a small package of wonderful stuff from Chamber's County. Clayton's sister, Emmaline, married there. So, I do have something about William and it confirms that he did live for a while, when he was very young, with his Aunt Emmaline, while his father, Clayton Jackson was getting resettled. In the 1870 census, he reappears with his father & father's new wife (Sarah M. Morgan) and younger half brothers and a sister which are: Gifford Jackson Elizabeth Jackson Clayton Jackson, Jr. If you should see anything that might help, I sure would appreciate it. Am not going to let up on this one!! Thanks so much again! Sincerely, Linda PS ~ Cheryl, I think I talked to you a year ago when I was looking for stuff to prove my great grandmother Harriet Amelia Wood was connected to Singletary Wood and Thalia Hall. Also as I was looking for info on my Jackson's. As it turns out, there is an obit at Rootsweb, posted by a Ken Wood. I contacted him. Turns out he and I have similar pictures. I have one with my great grandmother and a man sitting next to her on the front porch. She has her daughters and grandchildren with her in the picture. I was told that we know nothing about that man except that somehow, he was "Uncle Wood." Ken emailed me a copy of the picture HE had. Harriet wasn't in his picture, but her daughters and granddaughters were! It must have been taken like 5 minutes from the other one. The "Uncle Wood" turned out to be Joseph B. Wood, son of Thalia and Singletary. Harriet and Joseph are brother and sister, just as we had suspected! Joseph was Ken's grandfather, Harriet my gr grandmother.

    3. Try checking the Tyler County Census. The only lead I have would be that his nephew Ad Moses Jackson was born January 07, 1888 in Colmesneil, Tyler County, Texas. Also there seems to be family in Liberty County. Cheryl ColORRed@worldnet.att.net ------ Linda, I checked the 1900, 1910 census for Jasper and did not find Gifford Jackson, also checked, Newton and Sabine counties with no luck, including the marriage records for each county. Sorry, Yolanda --------- Hi there ~ Does anyone have access to the 1900 census for Jasper County? If so, would you see if there is a Gifford Jackson listed there? He is the son of Clayton Jackson, but I have no idea who Gifford married. I believe he was born in/about 1864 in Jasper County. Thanks so much! Sincerest thanks in advance, Linda
