Ella died in ca 1898 and my father was not born until 1921. He remembered visting his grandfather on many occasions but there was no one else there which would make sense. I have 2 aunts that live in Kirbyville that may know about the Smiths. They both are in their late 80's but know about a lot of other lines. I will write them both and see if they know anything or who might know.

I've emailed the clerk so much and she has provided me with so many records, she probably knows the line pretty well by now. I come through Herschel. My father is Duke. My father is in his 80's now. I just submitted my application to the Daughters of the Republic of Texas on the Glenn / Williams line and the county clerk was extremely helpful to me. I am working on supplemental lines now and just started getting documents for the Holmes line. I will ask my Dad about Ella and the Smith line. I am sure he will have something that I can relay to you.
