    2. Hello: The James S. HALL you found at Zion Hill Cemetery was my father. His father was Seborn James HALL married to Martha Jane Susan PELT of LA. He, as I am told divorced her in Jasper County. I do not have a date on the divorce. Seborn James HALL'S parents were Thomas HALL (buried at Friendship Cemetery Roganville, TX) his mother was Penelope (Hodge) HALL of FL. I know my Grandfather was buried in Jasper County, TX. I nor any one else can locate the death record or burial site. He was a Baptist Preacher in LA & TX. , he was a Cir. Rider Preacher. Thank you so much for your help in trying to find records on my grandfather. Shirley (HALL) Ray

Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/AkB.2ACE/335.1 Message Board Post: I visited Jasper ,TX recently and saw Rock Hill Cemetery. The Cemetery is located on Highway 96 about 5 miles west of Jasper,Texas. There's a huge sign posted on the a fence which reads Zion Hill Cemetary. This being a very old cemetery has segregated burial grounds with 2 divisions. Zion Hill has Caucasian burials and the Rock Hill side has African Americans, many born during slavery. Hope this helps.

    3. The closest I can find to the name Seborn James Hall is a James S. Hall buried at Zion Hill Cemetery. The dates don't match because this Hall was born 23 Dec. 1880 and died 17 Jan. 1956. I could not find anything in the Jasper County Cemetery book compiled by Mildred S. Wright. As in all compiled records there are always mistakes and omissions. I checked all of the Halls. Who were his parents and what was his wife's name? Will do more searching if you wish.
