Hello, I was wondering if anyone knows any history about Armstrong mountain located in the southeast part of the county off hwy 2210. The Topo maps have it listed as Armstrong mountain. But thats all it says. I understand that the Butterfield Overland route ran right beside it coming from Decatuer to Joplin. You can still see the old roadbed. I also have been told that folks in Jacksboro in olden days liked to avoid going to close to it. They were worried about the indians. I now own it and was just wondering if anyone knew anymore about its history. Thank you. David
