Tx Query Forum Reply Here: http://genconnect.rootsweb.com/gc/USA/Tx/Jack/1147 Surname: Brawley, Bunch ------------------------- My family of Bunch and Brawley were in Jack County TX in 1860-1880 for sure that I know of. My grt grandfather, Levi Brawley supposedly went out for a bucket of water and was never seen again. Prob. was abducted or killed by Indians, I don't know, but he was married to Elizabeth Bunch Brawley and they had two children born there in 1862 and 1865. Their names were Mary Jane and John A. Brawley. They are on the 1870 and 1880 Jack County census and I was so fortunate to pick up Elizabeth and Levi Brawley's original marriage certificate of 1861 but I can't find anymore info on Levi and would love to know how I can find out about any Indian problems that might include something about him. I would also like some information on one of the Bunch relatives who filed a claim with the Gov. because of losses in an Indian raid there. My grt granmother, Mary Jane Brawley told stories of being in an Indian raid there prob. in the 1860's or 70's. I would love to have any History books on Jack County from that time period if there is such a thing. Any help on how to find info on any of these things would be highly appreciated. Thanks in advance. Carolyn Coughlin P.S. I wonder if Jack County would have birth certificates for people born in 1862 and 1865? Thanks for reading. :)
