Yes, Dr. S.W. Pistole came to Jacksboro early and moved to Seymour, Baylor County, Texas in 1904. His wife was a school teacher in Jacksboro and Seymour for many years. Dr. Pistole died in 1929 in Seymour. I've emailed you his death notice. I've transcribed the West Texas Baptist College material. I have transcribed Jacksboro Newspapers: 1880, 1881, Jan.-Feb. 1882, 1883, Jan.-July 1884, July-Dec. 1885, 1887, Jan-Apr. 1889, June-Oct. 1890, 1893, Jan-May 1896, 1898, 1899, 1904-1910, 1923, 1929 and 1930. As to J.J. Stamps - Jacksboro Gazette 20 April 1893 Rev. J.J Stamps has been chosen by the trustees to fill the chair of ancient and modern languages in the North Texas Baptsit College at Jacksboro for the remainder of the season. He is a graduate of the University of Virginia and seminary. Jacksboro Gazette 11 May 1893 Jacksboro Locals Professor Stamps and Lacy went to Bowie to meet with the family of Professor Stamps. Jacksboro Gazette 17 August 1893 Jacksboro Personals Professors Stamps and Keathley were in town. The Jacksboro Gazette 5 October 1893 ollege Notes Last Monday opened the second month of our school. Those enrolled in the College last Monday morning nine new pupils:Miss Ivy Stamps These were the only times that a Stamps surname was mentioned in the Jacksboro newspapers that I transcribed. I've uploaded to Rootsweb the marriages, divorces, deaths and anything else that I thought was pertinent. Too many complaints and critcal letters, I'm done with Jacksboro newspapers for a while.     3. I for one agree with everyone who wants this to continue. It is difficult to understand why anyone would complain about a free service. I look forward to each and every email. I fully agree that we need to have a place on the Jack county website where these can be posted so we will have them all the time. Dorman is working with me to get my great great grandfather name placed on the police wall of fame. Please don't stop what you are doing!!
